Part I. Matching Your MI’s with Your Learning MO’s (60 minutes)
Opening Multi-Media Instructional Keynote. Dr. Michael Whitely takes high school and first-year college students on an intimate journey of discovery as they become familiar with Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligence (MI) Theory and discover their personal Learning Modus Operandi (MO). Through his case study, a series of assessments and interactive games, Dr. Whitely helps students unleash their hidden academic potential by matching students strongest ‘intelligences’ with compatible learning strategies. Dr. Whitely’s motivational presentation is aimed at enlightening students with shocking statistics, survival strategies, and life skills. This section provides both the theory and practice of student growth and development. Focused discussion revolves around research in self-analysis of student habits and attitudes as well as psychological impediments to successfully achieving personal goals.
